If you don't get a reply to a message after a couple of days, think about
why people weren't motivated to answer your question: perhaps it was too
broad, or not well explained, or perhaps you asked too many similar
questions in too short a space of time.

If you don't get a reply after a couple of hours, remember that half of the
members of the list are probably in bed, and many of the others have other
things to do.
