[xquery-talk] Open-source thesauri for full-text?

In order to implement the thesaurus option for full-text, one obviously needs a thesaurus.  Are there any freely-available thesauri that:

1. Have a C/C++ API so they can be queried programmatically?
2. Contain the semantic information specified by ISO 2788?

I'm aware of WordNet from Princeton.  While it does have a C API, it doesn't contain any of the semantic information from ISO 2788.  Most of the other APIs I've seen are HTTP-based APIs.  Using such an API would result if VERY slow queries since they have to go over the 'net.

What thesauri are full-text implementors using "in the wild"?
